Alternative Medicine Prevents Liver Transplant

Is organ replacement the only option when an infection or an autoimmune reaction damages an internal organ? Hopefully not. Modern medicine should have equivalent or better options than organ transplants. First off, finding compatible organs that specifically match a patient in need is like searching for a needle in a haystack; the odds are close to none. Each human body is unique and does not have interchangable parts prepared unlike cars. Furthermore, each person has diverse networks of cells working together to keep them alive. Replacing an organ runs the risk of transplant rejection, when the body refuses to assimilate the new organ and attacks it instead. Alternatively, this can be avoided if the failing organ is given the right environment to repair itself. Human stem cells are known to miraculously self-renew and differentiate to accomodate the body’s needs. Despite this, many people suffering from organ failure still line up to have their body parts replaced.

Organ transplantation often leaves patients with side effects or the inability to continue living normally. Since neither of those are preferable, is there another way to reverse organ damage? As mentioned before, the human body naturally has the solution already. Through alternative medicine, which consists mainly of acupuncture and medical herbs, we can encourage the body to recuperate. One actual case occurred in January 2021, where we treated a 55 year-old patient who suffered from liver failure due to chronic hepatitis B. Her specialist initially put her on the waiting list for a liver transplant. However, you can only wait so long before a patient’s fate is sealed.

Treatment

At the start of 2021, the patient’s husband came to the clinic for cervical spondylosis. Intrigued by my profession, he wondered if we could treat his wife who was suffering from liver disease. I reassured him that we indeed could; after all, I specialized in acupuncture and herbal medicine back in China years ago. Thus, he brought his wife to begin the alternative medicine treatment the following week. Two weeks later, our patient received good news: her blood report indicated that her liver function was improving.

Another two weeks passed and the local hospital phoned our patient, informing her that there was an available liver donor and that she would need to undergo the surgery that night if she were to follow through with the decision. Considering that the first month of treatment was significantly beneficial, she declined the opportunity and continued the therapy. As time passed, the bilirubin as well as the high AST and ALT levels (other enzymes indicative of liver damage) in her blood decreased in dynamic amounts. The hepatitis B virus responsible for the damage, measured by HBV-DNA also reduced to normal levels during treatment.

Although extremely powerful when used correctly, the current US medical system does not acknowledge alternative medicine. The treatments do not replace the function of the damaged liver, nor do they intend to. They also do not inhibit or kill the hepatitis virus directly. Ironically, these are results that both doctors and patients seek.

After infection, the Hepatits B virus resides in the liver and infects other organs, including bone marrow.  What makes it even more frightening is its ability to camoflauge itself among the healthy cells, making it difficult for the immune system to detect and eliminate them. Its prolonged existence creates permanent antigens that continually cause an inflammatory response that reduces the patient’s quality of life and may lead to death.

Restoration Process

Alternative medicine aims to repair and restore the damaged liver’s proper function. The treatment focuses on multiple areas.

  1. The antigens here are the damaged liver cells and the infectious hepatitis B virus. Both exhibit signs of inflammation. First, treatment must inhibit the inflammation by reducing the stimulation of cytokines to B lymphocytes to allow NK and T cells to eliminate foreign and endogenous antigens. This is how alternative medicine treats patients with infectious diseases and visceral injury with liver transplantation. The images above display the liver cell reparation, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer prevention, and the liver-damaging virus eradication.
  2. Metabolites, such as abnormal fluids or cell debris, may become new antigens which can cause cytokine storms,  microcirculation blockages, and bleeding. These create a difficult environment for the damaged tissues to recover.
  3. Intercellular dialogue, such as antigen-antibody reactions poses a major problem to the body. Since the patient has an HBV infection,  the damaged liver cells formed chronic hepatitis. The inflamed liver cells work together with the HBV virus and the metabolites to deceive with the immune system into causing inflammation and tissue damage.

Case Conclusion

Just killing the HBV virus is not the best solution. Doing so would only address the cause and not the tissues already affected by the virus. However, alternative medicine targets each pathological condition individually to employ and support the body’s nautral healing ability. Unfortunately, this therapeutic method cannot be found in animal models.

The case displayed clinical data for a patient who was suggested an immediate liver transplant. After two years of alternative medicine, our patient’s liver function reached normal limits and the virus was finally eradicated on April 22, 2022.

After two years of treatment, the patient no longer needs a liver transplant.
